Estimate your cognitive performance age

Four tasks. Around eight minutes.
One age estimate.

This battery uses browser versions of four cognitive paradigms that decline measurably with age. It compares your performance against published age-normative data and returns the chronological age your results most resemble.

Task 1 · Speed
Reaction time
Simple & choice response latency
Task 2 · Speed
Symbol matching
Coding task, DSST paradigm
Task 3 · Executive
Trail making B
Set-shifting & visual search
Task 4 · Memory
Digit span
Forward & backward working memory
What this is, and isn't. The tasks are computerised versions of clinically validated paradigms, but this specific tool is not itself a validated or diagnostic instrument. Results are for interest and self-tracking only, are affected by your device, focus and environment, and cannot detect or rule out any medical condition. Use a laptop or desktop, a mouse or trackpad, and a quiet moment.
Nothing is uploaded — everything runs and stays in your browser.

Your actual age

We need this to show your result against your real age. It does not influence the tasks or the scoring in any way — the estimate is computed purely from how you perform.

How the estimate is calculated
Not a medical device. This is an educational, unsupervised self-test built on published age-normative trends, not a diagnostic assessment or a validated instrument in its own right. A single browser session is a noisy measurement: caffeine, sleep, screen size, mouse quality, practice and distraction all move the number. It cannot detect, screen for, or exclude dementia, cognitive impairment or any other condition. If you have concerns about your memory or thinking, speak to your GP or a qualified clinician.
